40 Weeks! Already?

Wow just putting the title for my blog that I am now 40 weeks pregnant really makes things hit home for me! I can't believe it!!! Although my official due date is this Friday (the 8th) , Forrest is measuring as if I am 40 weeks today!

We had another Dr.'s appointment yesterday and still no change...still 1/2 cm dilated...he really is just pretty comfy in there ;) but again with that being said, anything could change within a day or hours so keep your fingers crossed that he makes his debut sometime this week. If not, then we have an appointment scheduled for the 11th and from there we will set an induction date for the 14th or the 15th! So either way we will be meeting Forrest within the next 10 days! YAY!!! so so excited!  Forrest is doing great though, we did have an uneasy part of the appointment though for just a few short minutes...when she was listening to his heartbeat she just had a harder time hearing it clearly and it was in the 120's so she said she wanted me to be hooked up to the heart rate monitor for a few minutes because it was a little hard for her to get a clear reading. So of course this had Phil and I worried but we stayed calm and tried to relax...they took us to a room and hooked me up to belts that monitor Forrest's heartbeat and my contractions and had me sit in a big (comfy) chair and we just tried to relax, we sat there and watched the graph and listened to his heart beat, it was very steady then when he would move around it spiked up, which is normal and he did that quite often because he is such a wiggle worm ;). After about 7 minutes my doctor came in and said she had no concerns and his heart beat sounds beautiful, she explained that usually within 20 minutes they like to see around 5 spikes of a heart rate and then level out and she said he did that in about 7 minutes so he's  perfectly fine! Man was that a relief!!!

So now I am in cleaning mode, which is fantastic because I have these last couple of days before Forrest gets here to get all of the little things finished, like a few more outfits washed, all blankets and sheets washed, all toys cleaned, room dusted, towels washed and diapers organized...the list goes on ;) then of course the rest of the house needs cleaning too ;) So I have plenty to keep me quite busy! ;)

As far as I am feeling, I have been doing pretty good, just getting very uncomfy... it is very hard to sleep at night and takes me a little longer to do anything...so I am very ready to meet our little man Forrest ;)  Phil is doing great too! He is just very anxious to meet his son! :)

We will keep everyone posted on Forrest's debut (hopefully sooner than later! ;)

We love you all!

39 weeks!

Hey there!
Okay so here is the update from our Dr.'s appointment yesterday! She said Forrest is still head down and his head is really low! I can actually feel his head from the outside wiggling around, so surreal,! His heart rate is in the 130's and sounding strong!  I haven't made any progress as far as being dilated, so I am still 1/2 cm dilated. Our doctor said that, that doesn't really matter though because I could progress within a matter of hours. So with that being said we are just playing the waiting game! :)  It could be any day now! That is a truly amazing feeling, I just still can not get over how fast my pregnancy has gone by and to know that Forrest will be here in a matter of days or weeks is so exciting, we can't wait for him to snuggle with us!  While I was at our appointment I had to also go ahead and make an appointment for the Monday(April 11th) after our due date... (April 8th) but she said that if I haven't delivered him by the 11th then we will schedule a date to induce (either April 14th or 15th) so at least there is an end in sight! :)

As far as how I am feeling, I am feeling good but I have reached the uncomfortable stage though...but I can't complain because it really has been such an easy pregnancy! I now wonder where my ankles are by the end of the day and occasionally I can not wear any rings because my fingers have decided to be swollen. I have  also been experiencing much more frequent braxton hicks contractions with a few contractions that cause actual pain and back pain. So I am watching those closely! My last day of school for this year is this Friday so I am still wrapping my head around that, I can't believe I only have 3 days of school left! Even if Forrest doesn't decide to make his appearance until after my due date at least it will give me time to get the last minute things done and organized, with a little rest scheduled in there too!(hopefully) ;)

Overall everything is going great and we are just eager for Forrest's arrival! So keep your finger's crossed that he is here sooner than later! ;)

*If anything exciting happens between now and our next appointment on Monday (the 4th) we will def. contact everyone!!! So either I will be updating next Monday after our scheduled appointment or you could possibly hear from us before then if Forrest decides to come into the world! :)

We love you all!

38 weeks!

Hey all!

We had our 38 week Dr.'s appointment yesterday and everything is looking good! I am only 1/2 cm dilated right now...which isn't much but hey at least it's something and we know we're making progress! His heartbeat sounded good and strong and he has been quite a wiggle worm!:) so overall everything went great! We had asked my Dr. About possibly inducing around 39 weeks so that we could be more at ease when he comes due to fact of being positive with group b strep. Because I have to have antibiotics for at least 4 hours before I have him...but with that being said she said if my cervix is like it is right now (not thinned out very much)then she really doesn't want to induce because that would put me at a higher risk of having a c-section. She also said that the likelyhood of me giving birth to him within 4 hours
is highly unlikely for first time moms ;) guess that my was my wishfull
thinking ;). So we are going to wait it out and see when Forrest decides to make his appearance! But, we will not be going past April 15th ( a week after his due date) so that gives us some peace of mind. :) Forrest could be here any day now and that is SO EXCITING!!! I can't believe how much my pregnancy has flown by!!!

Alrighty that is it for now I will update again after next week's doc. appointment! :)

37 Week Appointment

So I know I just  updated everyone with a lot of pics and info. but I wanted to update ya'll on my appointment this past week on March 15th! Doc. said everything is still looking great! She asked if I was having any regular contractions which i'm not so she said she didn't have to check to see if I was dilated or effaced but that she would check me at the next appointment (which is on Monday, March 21st) so still keep your fingers crossed that I am making some progress towards meeting our little man! :) She said his heart beat was strong and in the 130's as well so yay and still head down! She also told us that the Strep B test came back positive...but she just said that I will have to head straight to the hospital if my water breaks so I can start receiving antibiotics for it so that I don't pass it on to Forrest.

As far as I have been feeling, I have been feeling more BH contractions and they are a little stronger than before. I also have been feeling pressure low. So I know his arrival is getting closer but this wait is killin me ;) I'm ready to give him kisses and cuddle with him and I know his Daddy is too!

Earlier this week I also went into what I think is nesting mode. The other night I can't even count how many loads of Forrest's laundry I did, along with reorganizing his clothes by size and style, and washing bottles...until past 12 at night... Phil and I also set up his video monitor! :) So yay for getting all of the little things done! There is still more to do but I am trying to pace myself... ;) We also have all of our bags packed  for the hospital!!! (minus a few little things)

Well guys, I guess that is all for now! I will update again after our next appointment and hopefully we will be making some progress towards Forrest's arrival!

37 Weeks

Okay so it has been FOREVER since I have updated the blog so here comes a lot of info. and pictures! :)

I will start with my March 8th doctor's appointment! The appointment went fantastic! We actually had a sonogram done to see how big Forrest was. He is weighing in at 6 lbs 5 oz as of March 8th. So the doctor estimates that he will be around 8 lbs when he is born so not too big but still a bigger baby. She said his anatomy is beautiful,  his bladder, heart, etc. are in great shape! :) We even got to see his pouty lips and cute nose pretty well for it only being a 2d sonogram!

Since it was also my 36 week appointment that meant that my appointments will now be every week and they check to see if I am dilated or effaced along with all of the other regular routines such as weight gain and blood pressure etc. Our doctor said that I am not dilated or effaced yet but that his head is really low! So yay! They also tested me for Group B strep which only affects about 30% of pregnant women, we will get the results this Tuesday. If I do test positive for Group B strep then that means I will have to be on antibiotics while in labor so that I do not pass it on to Forrest. So hopefully that turns out negative!

So far I have been feeling fantastic majority of the the time but getting extremely tired  a little bit earlier each day, and slightly uncomfortable...but it is all worth it!!! I have been also have more frequent braxton hicks contractions but they are not painful, they just make my stomach very tight and they are random not consistent.

Since my last post I have also had a few showers and Phil had his Diapers and Dudes shower! I had a beautiful baby shower on February 26th @ the Rooftop Garden @ The Guenther House hosted by my best friend Amy Bertrand and her mother Lory Guilmino! I had such a blast and can not thank them enough!!!Forrest got so many goodies and essentials that I couldn't wait to put in his room! We are so very thankful! Thank you everyone for celebrating Forrest's upcoming arrival! I then had my school's baby shower on March 3rd, which was beautiful as well and was hosted by the rest of the Kindergarten team that I teach with! I can't thank them enough, we truly are so blessed. We received fabulous gifts from everyone at our school as well! Thank you so much!! Then the most recent shower I had was hosted by Tami Schoenfeld, Fay Schoenfeld and Tomme Lu Riklin! It was beautiful!! It was so wonderful to see and visit with everyone. I can't tell y'all enough how much we truly appreciated it!!! At this shower we received beautiful things as well!!! We have such amazing family and friends!!! Again thank you everyone for coming and celebrating Forrest's upcoming arrival! We can't wait for him to meet everyone and for him to use all of his goodies! He will love it all!!!

This past weekend Phil had his Diapers and Dudes shower which Phil had a blast at! This was hosted by Chuck Wallgren, Jason Wallgren, Brent Wallgren and Pat Hays. Thank you guys so much for putting this together for Phil, he truly appreciated it!!! They had a crawfish boil catered by Cayenne Kevin and Phil couldn't stop talking about how wonderful the crawfish were and how much fun he had seeing everyone. After a while most of  the Wife's/Girlfriends came and joined the guys to keep the celebration going. Phil and I had so much fun and it was so great to see everyone! Not to mention the tremendous amount of diapers that we received, it is going to help us out SO MUCH! Thank You Thank You Thank You!!!

Forrest's arrival is getting closer and closer and we are eager (make that very eager ;) to meet our sweet baby boy!  We have been getting things ready to make his transition into the world easy and  as stress free as possible. We just about have his nursery done, his carseat is ready to go and it's already  in my car ;), Forrest's bags and my bags are pretty much completely packed and Phil is starting to get packed!  I have also started washing things from his nursery such as bedding, blankets, a few outfits etc. that I know he will be using right away!

We will update everyone again after this week's appointment to let everyone know if there has been any progress!

Now for pictures from everything mentioned above (minus the sonogram, I don't have those pics on a cd :( )

32 Weeks!

Hi Everyone!!!

Well as of last Tuesday I was 32 weeks so I am almost 33 weeks (can't believe it!) Last week on Wednesday I decided that I would surprise Phil with another 3D sonogram of his soon to be son! I had planned on saving the pictures and DVD of the session until Valentine's Day but I just couldn't hold it in! I was too excited to show him, so needless to say Phil got his Valentine's Day present about 5 days early ;) He wasn't complaining though! He was sooo excited and he is now even more eager to meet and see his son! (only about 7 weeks to go! :) I am posting some 3D pics below so be sure to check them out!

We also had our 32 week Dr.'s appointment which went very well! She said I have excellent weight gain and excellent blood pressure so woo hoo! Forrest's heartbeat was good and strong and he is still head down! The Dr. also took a measurement of my stomach and yes I am still measuring ahead by a week, so Forrest is still looking like he's going to be a big boy! Our Dr. then recommended that we go ahead and schedule a sonogram for our 36 week appointment to see how much our little man is actually weighing since he has been consistently ahead, then we can figure out what the best option for us would be (whether we induce early, wait it out or schedule a c-section). We just want the best for Forrest! We have another appointment on February 24th (34 weeks) and I will update with more info after the appointment! :)

Last weekend my Mom and I made our way up to Dallas for my baby shower! I can't thank everyone enough for making it out through that nasty weather to celebrate Forrest!!! I was so excited to see everyone! Forrest got so many cute things and I can't wait for him to use them all! Thank you Thank you Thank you!

Now for some pics!
He sure does have some big feet!

Side profile view (face is on left looking right, both hands are up by his eye)

He has big hands too!

Can't believe he already has hair, the tiny little white fuzz is his hair :)

Pouty little lips :)

That's is for now, we can't wait to meet our little guy soon (in about 7 weeks!) SOOO EXCITING!!! I can't imagine how much our love will grow for him when we meet him because we already have so much love for him! :)

We love you all!

30 Weeks!

Hi Guys!

Well I had my 30 week check up yesterday and everything went great! I am still measuring a week ahead (so I'm measuring at 31 weeks). The doctor said Forrest is still looking like he is going to be big baby, (he gets that from his daddy ;) Phil was almost 10 LBS when he was born and 21 1/2 long! So I am thinking a big baby is indeed in our future ;) She also said he is head down so YAY!!! Hopefully he will stay in that position until he's ready to meet the world! I thought that he was head down already though because of all of the movement I am feeling right under my ribs. Everything looks great with Forrest though and she confirmed that I did in fact pass my glucose test so another YAY!!!

I think Forrest is getting a little bit stronger every day because every day it seems like he pushes his feet out a little further each day :) I have also felt him get the hiccups more often, which is super cute! He has also started doing this new movement when I lay down to go to bed...I swear he is dancing in there..when I lay on my side I sleep with my arm across my belly...well the other night my arm started moving up and down as if it were in a huge storm in the middle of the ocean, rocking back and forth...he was dancing up a storm!!! Forrest continues to"roll his feet across my whole belly" I think that is his favorite thing to do, but it truly is an amazing feeling.

I just can't believe how fast my pregnancy has gone by, it feels like yesterday I was filming Phil's reaction to finding out he was going to be a Daddy! Time really does fly! I was also able to make the remainder of my appointments until his due date...WOW I REALLY CAN'T BELIEVE HE WILL BE HERE IN ABOUT 9 WEEKS! We are so ready for him though, each movement of his makes us that much more excited to meet him! We already have so much love for  our little man Forrest!!!

Phil and I are doing fantastic except for my tiredness ;). I am also looking forward to my first shower in Dallas next weekend being thrown by some of my best friends!!! I can't wait!!! I will post pics soon after that!

Also, here is a 30 week belly photo

Love to all!

28 Week Appointment!

Hi Y'all!

Last week we went to my 28 week check-up! (time sure does fly by!) Forrest's heartbeat was good and strong, but he kept moving away from the doppler whenever the doctor put it on my stomach (I told y'all he is a very active baby ;) but he finally decided to stay still and she was able to get a  good reading, it was 153 BPM. My doctor then measured my stomach and it was 29 cm, which means I am a week ahead (your stomach measurement is supposed to match how many weeks you are) she said it doesn't really concern her but with me being petite she said that it looks like Forrest will probably be a bigger baby...Phil and I both had a yikes look on our face haha. So we will just have to keep a watch on my measurements. My doctor also said that when we get closer if I am measuring too big she will do a sonogram and see how much he does weigh and we will figure out what to do from there, whether it be inducing early or c-section or just play the waiting game! We shall see!

I also had the glucose test done at this appointment. I had to drink a sugary drink (fruit punch flavored, it wasn't that bad) an hour before they took my blood and that would test how fast my body breaks down sugar. If I failed it then I would have to go back in for a three hour test and fast for 8-12 hours before(which is not easy especially when you're pregnant!)...If I passed the test then I wouldn't have to take any other glucose test's. Well the results are in and they turned out NORMAL so this means no 3 hour test woo hoo!!!

Forrest is doing fantastic and is growing every day! I think he is starting to run out of room though because he is now doing much slower movements (no more of the punching bag actions haha) and he now will stretch out and move his legs across my entire stomach for a while and sometimes he will push out so far that it feels like someone is pinching me from the inside ;) but I still don't mind it because I love knowing he is growing strong in there! I also feel little jerking motions which I think is hiccups (they are so cute!) I feel him every day several times an hour, so he def. lets me know hes in there and doesn't let me forget! ;) I am doing great as well besides having sinus issues every now and then! Phil is also doing fantastic!!!

Well guys I think that is is for now, I will update everyone after each doctor's appointment which is now every 2 weeks!

Love,
Courtney, Phil and Forrest

27 weeks!

Hey Guys!

So sorry I am just now updating! Phil and I had a wonderful Christmas break! We started the break off with a celebration dinner for my Dad's 25 years of business then we went to Vegas with some great friends and had a blast!!! Although it rained every day it was still nice to just get away for a little mini-vacay! (see pics below) Once we got back our Christmas festivities soon started! We love Christmas time and we were so thankful that we got to see family and friends!!! :)

After Christmas things slowed down a little bit and we were able to set up Forrest's nursery (it is not complete yet though)  and we had an appointment to see Forrest in 3D on December 29th!!! It was truly an amazing experience and I wish I could get a 3D sonogram every week! :) Knowing that we created such a miracle  and that we will have a son and be parent's in a few short months is a truly unexplainable feeling but in the most amazing way! Forrest was very active during the appointment and we found out just how flexible he was! He had his legs criss-crossed just about touching his head along with his hands in his mouth, and once again we had confirmation that he was indeed a boy ;) (see 3D pics below)

Next week we have our 28 week checkup (I can't believe I will already be 7 months!!!) At this checkup I will be taking the glucose test (this is where they give you basically like a pure sugar drink to drink before you come to the appointment, then an hour later they test your blood to see how fast your body breaks down sugar) to test for gestational diabetes, keep your finger's crossed that I pass because if I fail the test I will then have to go back and do a 3 hour test... this appointment will also consist of the usual too: listening to Forrest's heartbeat, measuring my stomach and etc. After this appointment I will start going in to the doctor every 2 weeks for a checkup until the last month where I will be going to the Dr. every week.

Everything is going fabulous and we couldn't be happier! I am however experiencing decrease of energy as the 3rd trimester begins, but nothing to drastic. I just cope by taking a nap when I get home in the afternoons! :) Only 13 more weeks until we get to meet our little man!!! Forrest has also been getting more and more active every day, but I can't complain!!! He has kept me up a few nights due to him playing around in my tummy :) (he's just training me for when he comes into the world ;) He also likes to kick and roll and stretch out every morning at about 5:30, then the rest of the day he will rest then play (move around and roll) throughout the day. With him moving around all of the time, it makes me that much more excited about him being here, because it has set in just how real this all is, because at first in the beginning of my pregnancy it was like a dream ... up until week 16 I didn't feel him move and I didn't have a "baby bump", but I listened to his heartbeat and saw sonograms of him so I knew he was there... but I never had morning sickness either so it just truly felt like I was having a dream that I never wanted to wake up from! Because we all know that I have dreamed about being a mommy since I was little :) and I couldn't be happier or more proud to be starting a family with the love of my life, Phil is already a wonderful husband and he is going to be a wonderful Daddy!!!

Well guys that is it for now!  See pics below from Vegas and Forrest's 3D sonogram!

Love Always,
Courtney, Phil and Forrest
3D pic. of Forrest's face, you can see his chin, lips, nose, eyes and part of his ear (on the right) and his hand is tucked underneath his chin :) He's already stolen his Mommy's heart :)
Here is another of his face, you can basically see everything you saw above but in this one his hand is moving in front of his face :)

Another face pic. with more of his hand going for his mouth! (he loves his hands!)

and now his arm is across his face and you can see his hand/fingers curled :)

and now his hand is moving back down away from his face :) I love this look I just want to give him a kiss on those cute little pouty lips
